A milestone achieved

March 2021 · 2 min read

In my previous piece, written in October 2020, I ended on this note:

The journey still goes on, with three more exciting subjects to pitstop at before I reach a new milestone of professional excellence. Looking forward to a knowledge-filled, and knowledge-sharing, journey further on as well.

When I wrote that last paragraph, little did I believe I would manage to pass the remaining three subjects by March 2021 — exactly as per the original tentative plan. The journey that began with a thought of knowledge enhancement and upskilling ended with a new degree in my bag. I thoroughly enjoyed and made the most of the Becker software across all four subjects; it is very well designed and regularly updated, and it prepares you in a tough way so that you sail smoothly through all the Uniform CPA exams.

With an undyingly supportive spouse and ever-cheering, inspiring kids by your side, the most difficult weeks right before the exams went by in a jiffy. Looking back at every step of the journey, I owe thanks to my family and friends for being supportive and motivating throughout the times I was occupied with both work and studies.

A big shout-out to Sripal and his team. His encouraging words and support — right from the evaluation process — continue to this day as I apply for my license. All the teachers at Simandhar are knowledgeable guides for students who wish to supplement the Becker material with live lectures. Surindar Kaur is an especially good teacher for REG, her practical experience enhancing an already wonderful teaching style.

Looking forward to being part of a new fraternity of professionals — after Indian CAs and CISAs (ISACA, USA), now US CPAs too.

Written in March 2021. The story began with As the journey begins, and continues — five years on — in As the journey continues.
